Going on ATV trails in Colorado, it’s important to know how to be safe and make sure you have enough gas to get out and back. Here are a few safety tips for you to remember while you’re out on the ATV trails.

  1. Don’t go faster than necessary. The amount of control an ATV driver has is dependent upon their speed. The faster someone is driving, the less control they will have. ATVs are only meant to go a certain speed to keep you safe.
  2. Carry a communication device with you at all times. While most people carry cell phones with them wherever they go, remember that some remote areas with ATV trails in Colorado won’t get a signal. A better option is to carry walkie talkies with you. Remember too to test out the range of the walkies. Some are line of sight, while others have the capability for distance.
  3. Drivers need to be over the age of 16 with driving experience. With children over the age of 16, there should always be adult supervision.

At Estes Park ATV Rentals, we make sure you are fitted for a helmet to keep your head safe, then we go through a safety lesson for keeping yourself and other safe while you’re out on the trail. Because our ATV rentals are not led trips on the ATV trails, we want to make sure you are as safe as possible while you go out. We will give you enough gas to ensure you’ve got enough to do the exploring you want to do. Our ATVs and UTVs are top of the line and in great working condition.
